The Golden Globes are happening on Sunday, January 8 and will be hosted by Jimmy Fallon.

The frontrunners are "Moonlight" and "Manchester by the Sea" in the drama category for movies. Moonlight clearly is the favorite among critics and moviegoers.

For Best Comedy/Musical, "La La Land" is most likely to bag multiple awards including Best Director for Damien Chazelle; Best Actor, Comedy/Musical and Best Actress, Comedy/Musical for Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone, respectively. Unless of course "Deadpool" Ryan Reynolds beat Gosling to it. Meryl Streep might steal the award from Stone and makes it her 9th Golden Globes win.

For Best Actor (Drama), Casey Affleck's ("Manchester by the Sea") performance will probably win him the award. Denzel Washington ("Fences") could steal the win though.

Best Actress, Drama nominees Natalie Portman ("Jackie") and Amy Adams ("Arrival") are the frontrunners.
2017 Golden Globes: Predictions
Mahershala Ali of "Moonlight" is also predicted to win in his category, Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role in any Motion Picture. But let's not ignore Jeff Bridges' superb performance in "Hell or High Water".

All Best Supporting Actress, Drama nominees are deserving of the title. They are:
Viola Davis, “Fences”
Naomie Harris, “Moonlight”
Nicole Kidman, “Lion”
Octavia Spencer, “Hidden Figures”
Michelle Williams, “Manchester by the Sea”

Over on TV, "The Crown" (Netflix) is the most likely winner as Best Drama TV Series. The award seems to be elusive for audience favorite, "Game of Thrones" (HBO). Donald Glover's comedy "Atlanta" (FX) beyond doubt will win the Best Comedy TV Series award. "The People v. O.J. Simpson" (FX) looks like a sure win as Best TV Movie/Limited Series.

For the actor/actress categories, here are the predicted winners:
Best Actor, Drama TV Series - Billy Bob Thornton, "Goliath" (Amazon)
Best Actress, Drama TV Series - Claire Foy, "The Crown" (Netflix)
Best Actor, Comedy TV Series - Donald Glover, "Atlanta" (FX)
Best Actress, Comedy TV Series - Sarah Jessica Parker, "Divorce" (HBO)
Best Actor, TV Miniseries/Limited Series - Courtney B. Vance, "The People v. O.J. Simpson" (FX)
Best Actress, TV Miniseries/Limited Series - Sarah Paulson, "The People v. O.J. Simpson" (FX)

Host Jimmy Fallon is predicted to target President-elect Donald Trump although when asked by TODAY's Matt Lauer, he answered, "That's classified. Only me and Russian hackers know who I'm gonna hit."
