The production of the Philippines' horror film Porthouse led by director Nikolas Red and producer Iana Bernardez of Epicmedia got the Discover of Asia and the VIPO Award of the 2022 Network of Asian Fantastic Films (NAFF) given during the Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival held last July at the Buncheon City Hall Lawn Square in South Korea.
The jury critically appreciated the film for its creative work citing that the director, Nikolas Red have shown a worldview perspective consistently throughout the entire film. The VIPO Award gave a funding assistance prize of around $15,000 to the production of the said film. Porthouse was among the 32 entries from 18 countries.
NAFF now on its 14th year have annually held its festival to support the worldwide entertainment industry in developing filmaking projects as aid in promoting the entertainment culture including the Korean culture among the nations of the world.
