Sources of heat

Hello friends. What's up? Are there any studies or comparisons of which heat sources are more profitable to use at home, gas or electricity, for heating and water heating.

I haven't come across any resource that unambiguously states that it's more profitable to use. And how do you check it? If you only use a gas boiler one season and an electric boiler the next. And here's where consumers agree on the page https://oncor.pissedconsumer.com/review.html , that gas is generally cheaper than electricity as a fuel source, but electric heating systems, more efficient.
