  • [ MOVIE RECOMMENDATION ] The Anthem of the Heart (Kokoro ga Sakebitagatterunda)

    From the people who gave us Ano Hana (Ano Hi Mita Hana no Namae wo Bokutachi wa Mada Shiranai), this almost-two-hour long movie is centered around interpersonal relationships and the power of one's words. The female lead, Jun, used to be a chatterbox before her careless words led to the separation of her parents. Torn by guilt and fear, she seals her words away and refuses to speak.

    I'm not exactly the best at summaries, so don't let that awful effort before the picture turn you off. I absolutely LOVE this movie. It was the third and last of my anime movie binge today and it ripped my feels apart. I can't help but feel for all the main characters -- even for the baseball player who struck me as a huge jerk even before he spoke a single word! I don't cry easily (I think it's more accurate to say that I'm pretty close to dead inside, lmao), but this movie shoved feelings into me and had me leaking them out through my eyes, I--

    ANYWAY.

    To those who loved Ano Hana, to those looking for a good cry, to everyone who sees this post-- Give this movie a shot! At the very least, I can swear you won't regret it!!

    I wanted to watch this at first when it premiered here. But then again, drama is just not my thing. lol Although I did read a lot of reviews of it being nice. I guess I just had some other movies that I made as my priority that time.

    I loved Ano Hana and plan to watch this in the future. Once rentals are already available in my place.

      Linzz : It hit right at home for me, honestly. I bawled like a baby -- and I hardly ever do that for any show. The last time I cried like I did for a show was when I watched the live drama for One Litre of Tears. ;; I hope you get to watch it soon! Some thought the ending was kinda rushed, and I agree -- but I loved it anyway. <3

        I watched AnoHana and it hit me real hard because it was friendship. <3 Might try this, I guess. After all of my movie line-ups, that is. lol Planning to watch Black Butler Movie this weekend. haha

          Linzz : Anyone who didn't cry at least once while watching One Litre of Tears isn't human, honestly.

          And I didn't cry as much for AnoHana as I did with Anthem. The latter just hit me more than the former did for some reason, I think? I'm not quite sure- ;;;

            rynnerae : I hit a hard cry when Popo cried in AnoHana. It hurts me to see the big guy bawls his eyes.
