  • Shoujo Manga Recommendations

I've been reading shoujo mangas since I was around 10. I've seen it all. Sometimes I think I don't get surprised as much with regular romantic movies since I've had a lot of heartbreaks and crushes throughout the years while reading manga. From the lovely Sakura Card Captor to the quick read of Absolute Boyfriend. I would recommend:

    Absolute Boyfriend
    Dengeki Daisy
    L-DK
    Kamisama Kiss
    Sakura Card Captor
    Inu x Boku

Which are your favorite mangas and what would you recommend others?

        Hi Chibicano! Sure

No Longer Heroine - it's about a girl who's in love with her childhood friend. She believes she's the perfect heroine for him until he got his own girlfriend which devastated the main female protagonist. She labeled herself as a disqualified heroine (heroine shikkaku) because she failed to be by her childhood friend's side as a girlfriend. In the latter part of the story, she fell in love with the second male lead only for her childhood friend to realize that he (childhood friend) is in love with the main female protagonist. It's a nice and heartwarming story and the female protagonist is very bubbly and pretty

Fushigi Yuugi - about two girls who got transported inside a book to the ancient China, from there, they struggle to have their wishes come true once they become a priestess of each of the four gods. The other girl was tricked into becoming her bestfriend's enemy and was told to believe she was abandoned just for the enemy group to gain enormous power. (lots of eye candies in this anime lol)

Hirunaka Ryuusei - is about a country bumpkin who was sent to live with her uncle in Tokyo. Unexperienced in love, she fell for her teacher but was heartbroken by him.

Strobe Edge - the main protagonist fell in love with her classmate only that he has a girlfriend. they both struggle to understand their feelings to one another and followed their heart in the end.

Ao Haru Ride - When she was a middle school student, Futaba Yoshioka liked Kou Tanaka who was unlike the other boys and quite gentle. Kou Tanaka then moved away and they lost contact. At the end of Futaba Yoshioka's first year as a high school student she meets Kou Tanaka again. Kou Tanaka’s name has changed to Kou Mabuchi and his personality seems different from his middle school days.

          I recommend these two titles.

They were made by the same author, and my all-time favorite.

This is not shojo but I'd like to list Inari Konkon Koi Iroha as well. It is tagged as seinen but the plot has shojo romance too so it is nice. It's about a girl who met the shrine god, Inari and they became friends.

I've watched the anime version of Inari Konkon Koi Iroha as well! It's got a pretty good plot that makes you feel warm and fuzzy!

I read most of CLAMP's work. And I read Holic too together with Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle (since they are sister series). Although I haven't been catching up with Gate 7 since it's still ongoing and back then the story hasn't picked up yet. Plan to buy the volumes though.

Hi Chibicano! Yes, I was able to read all of them last year! I really love Dengeki Daisy. Kurosaki is just too cool! Haha. Among my all time faves is Kamisama Kiss because really, who could resist Tomoe? Hihihi <3
