  • Rock and metal

Everything about rock and metal. Recommend, critique, praise, whatever you like. I've stop paying hard attention to rock and metal bands when I was approximately 17 or 18 years old, so maybe I've missed something. Especially Asian rock and metal music, which is something that really interests me, but from the people who really listen to it, not from advertisements and that stuff.

But aside from that, let's talk about rock and metal

I'm like you, I stopped paying real attention to metal bands when I was a teenager, but I still have to say some of my favorite bands of all time are 80's hair metal bands, like Motley Crue and Guns n Roses. For more modern rock, I've really loved Halestorm lately. Lizze Hale (not sure how you spell her name) has a really strong, unique voice.

80s music lover here. Love GnR and Metallica. And Led Zeppelin. Not sure though if they're from the 80s.

Yes! And if you like Lzzy Hale (it's difficult to remember how to spell out her name), do you like Veronica Freeman? She is what you might call less feminine (although that's not a disadvantage in my book) and she is sooo awesome! Very powerful voice. She covers Dio's songs. Do you like Dio?

What is your opinion about Rammstein?

I've never heard of Veronica Freeman, I'll have to look her up on YouTube! Tsok, I like Rammstein, but only the few songs I've heard, I haven't really gotten into them too much.

The Crue and the Gunners were awesome back in the day!

Awesome Aussie rockers The Angels. They never broke into the US market due to several unlucky circumstances.

Ashley, didn't know about them but I have just listened to them, and they are great! The market is so unfair and it doesn't necessarily say anything about the quality of a musician.

Yeah they had talent. Like I said they caught a couple of bad breaks. When they tried to break into the US market, there was already a group called The Angels for one thing, and they had to go with some other terrible, unmarketable name.

Too bad! That's why I am very sceptical about the market in general. Don't understand how people say it's fair to be judged by it.

                      Or rather valued by it.

Totally true; you can't judge a band by its popularity/billboard hits etc. I've found some great bands by just going to random shows in tiny dive bars or other venues.

Yep! Besides, what's good or bad is subjective, although, of course, they are some relatively certain pointers to the quality of a certain musical product (skill, for instance).
