    I thought I'd share some of the information from my visit to the dietician yesterday. She gave me some handouts from the American Diabetes Association that I thought would be helpful for anyone looking to make more heart-smart eating choices.

    Eat more:
    whole grains
    vegetables and fruit
    healthy fats
    fish
    foods with omega-3 fats

    Eat less:
    red and processed meats
    cookies, chocolate, ice cream, and other desserts
    salty snacks like chips
    sugary drinks
    cream and solid fats like butter and lard
