I'm thinking of getting a toy dog. Which one is the best?

I always like big dogs coz I used to have two growing up. My son wants one. But we live in an area where big dogs are impossible to pet so I'm thinking maybe a toy dog. Can you recommend one that is easy to "maintain" or take care of?

Yeah, i think a pug is a good choice. I was also thinking of a shih tzu (coz they are oooohh soooo adorable) but looks like they are high maintenance and needs grooming a lot because of their fur.
