Are e-sports considered a sports?

    E-sports is now considered sports nowadays because of 1.) players' achievements recently (dude, a professional gamer earns more folds than my usual salary), 2.) technology's advancement (wait until VR comes out in the public with easy-to-use platform) 3.) educational effect - as of the moment, there are already schools that provide e-sports courses with educational beneficiaries making it a certified course in universities and colleges.

    If sports was meant to move the body, e-sports is just the same. It moves the mind same as like chess (as mentioned by Tsok ). True that it doesn't involve any muscles but a working brain in two hours drains more energy than a mile of jog.

    I agree, if chess is a sport, e-sports should be considered a sport, too.

    What is your opinion on this issue? Some countries (like Finland for example) recognize e-gaming as a real sport. Also, some Football teams (Estoril, Chelsea, Manchester City, Benfica and a lot of other teams) have already create e-gaming teams.

    I think that if Archery or Sharpshooting or even Chess considered as sports why not the e-gaming too?
